Rep. Woodard of Belle Plaine Receives Republican Endorsement in House District 20A Race
Rep. Kelby Woodard of Belle Plaine was endorsed by the Scott and Le Sueur County Republicans on Thursday night. In expressing his appreciation for the endorsement Kelby stated, “I first decided to run for this office in 2010 when Minnesota was facing an over $6 billion budget deficit coupled with a 7.1% unemployment rate. By forcing the state to live within its means, not following the governor’s call for tax increases, and by beginning to unravel overly burdensome regulations on our small businesses, our state now faces a much different economic future. Minnesota now enjoys a $1.2 billion surplus and an unemployment rate that is well below the national average at 5.4%. While that is good news, our work in St. Paul is not complete. We must continue to work to pay down the IOUs that have been written over the last decade, alleviate the tax burden on Minnesotans, and promote economic freedom and prosperity through limiting the state’s interference in the marketplace. I am proud to serve the folks of District 25B and look forward to meeting the folks in Le Sueur County, New Prague and Elko/New Market who reside in the newly formed District 20A. ”
