Now is the time to have their voices heard and be involved in grassroots democracy by attending your respective precinct caucus meetings this Tuesday!
Precinct caucus meetings are where everything begins. It is the first step in our state's political process as local party units come together to discuss issues and share ideas, choose delegates and express candidate preferences. Caucuses also are important because they provide you with an opportunity to run for various positions, present a resolution, or volunteer time. It is a rare opportunity to gather with friends and neighbors to discuss national, state, county, city, township or school district-related issues as well as support candidates that reflect your values.
I urge you to participate in your precinct caucus this year even if you have never attended in the past. If you are a caucus regular, I encourage to bring friends and family to experience this display of grassroots democracy.
Caucus meetings throughout Minnesota will begin at 7 p.m. Tuesday. The Secretary of State website includes aCaucus Finder link with more information and assistance in finding caucus locations. I will be out and about attending caucuses throughout the district. I hope to see you Tuesday evening. Please feel free to email me if you have any questions about the caucus process in Minnesota.
